How to Easily Track your NSFAS Application Status
If you are one of the 2026 NSFAS applicants, looking to check your application status, then this article is for you as we will be walking you through on how to track your NSFAS application.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was established in terms of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Act 56 of 1999).
The NSFAS bursary is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents with a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per annum. For persons living with disabilities, the combined household income is capped at R600 000 per annum.
The NSFAS Loan is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents with a combined household income is between R350 001 and R600 000 per annum.
How to Easily Track your NSFAS Application Status
Below is how you can easily track your myNSFAS Application Status
1. Visit the myNSFAS Portal
- Go to the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za.
- Click on myNSFAS button at the Top right corner of the homepage.
2. Log in to Your Account
- Enter your registered email address and password.
- Complete the CAPTCHA to verify your identity.
- Click Sign In.
3. Check Your Application Status
- Once logged in, look for the Track Application Progress or Application Status tab.
- Click on it to view the current status of your application.
4. Understand the Status Terms
- Application Submitted: Your application has been received and is being processed.
- Documents Missing: You need to upload the required documents.
- Under Review: Your application is being reviewed to confirm eligibility.
- Approved: Your funding has been approved.
- Rejected: Your application did not meet the requirements (reason will be provided)..
5. Check Your Application Status
Check regularly for updates or further actions needed, such as uploading missing documents or accepting your funding.
Kindly note: NSFAS officials will never ask or call you to share your password!
